- Nathan Richards
Nathan farms a 23-acre organic mixed farm focused on horticulture producing food for a hyper-local market, serving his immediate community through a box scheme, local producers’ market, and retail outlets such as restaurants and health-food stores. The farm’s ethos is built around a belief in the necessity of farming sustainably in the 21st century. This means a whole farm holistic approach to food production which starts with the microbial worlds within our soil and encompasses everything from habitat protection and creation, to the role that the farm has within the local community.
Nathan has previously sat on the steering group of the Future Growers programme and he and his wife have hosted seminar weekends for the programme. The eductaion and training of farmers is a vital concern for Nathan and he is passionate about the development of the organic movement.
