Phil studied Oceanography and marine biology at degree level before working in various industries including the food industry and various butchery and catering operations, before joining Soil Association Certification in 2006. In his role of senior certification manager, Phil oversees a team of certification officers delivering various certification schemes across all food categories, as well as the catering, health and beauty and textiles industries.
