The Regeneration Fund

The Regeneration Fund has raised £4.5 million to transform the way we eat, farm and care for our natural world. Your support enables change at scale for nature, climate and human health.

We are deeply grateful to all the generous donors who have supported the Regeneration Fund over the past 5 years.

Together, we have played a vital role in driving forward transformative change. We’re thrilled to share the impact that your support has made, and continues to make.

In this final report, we assess the progress made against the goals we set ourselves.

Our key highlights

Thanks to our supporters - a group of brilliant, generous and deeply motivated individuals and organisations. We have raised over £4.5 million, paving the way for lasting, transformational change. Here are just a few highlights:

  • Soil Association Exchange, since 2022, has now assessed the environmental, social and animal welfare status of over 2000 farms, supporting farmers to improve their scores

  • Innovative Farmers has not only continued to initiate new field labs on topics ranging from living mulches to solving cobalt deficiency, but has also inspired the launch of ADOPT, a Government backed scheme supporting farmer led research at scale

  • Our Farmer Led Tree Revolution project to champion agroforestry has also made huge strides. With climate change biting, farmers and government alike are finally recognising trees as an essential part of their resilience toolkit

The Regeneration Fund final report

This report looks at the impact of and the progress made as a result of the Regeneration Fund over the last 5 years.

Our 6 projects

Our vision is regeneration: a world with good health, in balance with nature, and a safe climate.

The Regeneration Fund introduced 6 priority projects to achieve progress towards this vision. Over the past 5 years, these have been transforming the way we eat, farm and care for our natural world and have accelerated progress towards our 2030 goals.

Complementing the core work of Soil Association, these projects are equally important but highly varied in scale and subject. They range from working directly with farmers, landowners, food ambassadors and community leaders to growing our political influence.

Although this Fund has now been succeeded by our Vision: Nature Revival, you can still learn more about these projects in the Regeneration Fund report.

As we celebrate our 80th anniversary, it is a time to look forward rather than back. We are now halfway through this crucial decade and have an ambitious goal to revive nature across UK farmland, which makes up the majority of UK land.

If you share our ambitions for the future, please consider supporting us through this next phase, to build on the progress achieved by the Regeneration Fund. There is much to celebrate but still so much to do.
