Exporting from GB into Non-EU
Exporting from GB into Non-EU countries
A valid and original Export Certificate may be required to accompany exported organic product leaving GB to countries outside the EU.
This is to confirm the organic integrity of a product once it arrives at its destination.
We advise checking with the organic authority in the export market whether labels/certification will be accepted.
Equivalency arrangements are currently in place to ensure the product from the will be accepted by the following countries:
- Costa Rica
- New Zealand
- Republic of Korea
- United States of America
Under current arrangements, some categories of product (for example livestock or aquaculture products) many not be covered. It is important that you ensure your product category is covered before attempting to export. Contact us at firstname.lastname@example.org if you are unsure.
Note: Taiwan is considered an exception and has not recognised EU (UK) organic status since May 2020. Taiwan now requires products to be approved to the organic standards of The Taiwanese Agriculture and Food Agency (AFA)
