The business case for organic arable farming
Organic arable farming: understand market opportunities and conversion updates
Register for our online webinar, March 19th at 10am.
The amount of UK farmland in conversion to organic with Soil Association Certification has doubled in the past year, in response to government schemes, market supply opportunities and increased consumer demand for products from nature-friendly farming.
Organic arable farming has received support through the Government’s Sustainable Farming Incentive (SFI) and Country Side Stewardship schemes. With the recent news that DEFRA have suspended new SFI applications for 2025, this webinar will help farmers with future decision making when it comes to organic conversion. There will also be an opportunity to help build the evidence to DEFRA for continued support for organic conversion and nature friendly farming through 2025 applications.
With specialist speakers from Soil Association, Robin Appel and Wild Ken Hill, this webinar will outline the market and supply opportunities for UK organic arable farming. It will also cover the practicalities, challenges and opportunities of organic conversion and the adoption of practices that replace artificial fertilisers and pesticides. There will also be an update on the suspension of the Sustainable Farming Incentive for new applications in 2025 and an opportunity to provide feedback on how that is affecting your farming system.
