Poly Lactic Acid Packaging (PLA)

Following a working group set up with stakeholders the following position statement was agreed regarding the use of PLA:

‘As from December 2015, Soil Association Certification will no longer issue EP’s for GM PLA. This means that all stock of GM PLA packaging/tea bags must be used up by this date, and any applications or extensions for EP’s that are granted before then will expire by the end of December 2015.’
